The 2026 civil proposal
The SEC's 3 August 2026 release describes a proposed Gotbit judgment filed on 28 July and a voluntary dismissal of its claims against Fedor Kedrov. The release makes approval conditional. The linked judgment document is labelled proposed and has an unsigned date line, so it is not treated here as an entered order. The dismissal concerns those SEC claims; it does not erase the separate criminal outcomes described below.
The announced outcomes
DOJ reported on 13 June 2025 that Gotbit and founder Aleksei Andriunin had been sentenced the previous day. Andriunin received eight months in prison following a guilty plea. The company was ordered to forfeit approximately $23 million in seized cryptocurrency and received five years of probation during which it was to cease existing or operating.
The service described
The announcement says Gotbit provided market-manipulation services that created artificial cryptocurrency trading volume for clients between 2018 and 2024. It describes wash-trading techniques, multiple accounts and efforts to make tokens appear more active in order to obtain visibility and exchange listings.
Keep related cases separate
The source also mentions charges involving directors and separate client cases. Those references do not establish that every named person or client received the same outcome. The documented point is that reported trading activity can be manufactured; this article does not identify other tokens as manipulated without their own evidence or claim to have conducted a fresh trading analysis.
Sources, dates and limits
Checked 23 October 2026. The SEC proposal and dismissal are distinct from the June 2025 criminal sentencing record. No later court entry is established by the reviewed materials, and no unrelated token is labelled manipulated by association.
