Record what the ranking measures
Practical checklist · not an audit of another provider
Note the time window, exchanges included, asset identity and whether the value is reported or adjusted. A rank without a methodology is difficult to interpret. Confirm the contract and network so that similarly named tokens are not combined. Keep the original source and date for any number you use in a comparison.
Ask a different question about liquidity
Practical checklist · not an audit of another provider
A volume total does not establish the cost or feasibility of a particular trade. Do not interpret a trending badge as proof of independent demand, sound custody or an honest issuer. The Gotbit record illustrates deliberate inflation of activity, but it does not justify accusing another token on the basis of a high or irregular number alone.
Separate research from promotion
Practical checklist · not an audit of another provider
If a promoter cites volume as a reason to act immediately, ask what other evidence supports the project. Check the operator, product and relevant authorisation separately. Avoid making a trade merely to test a suspicious market. Preserve the claim and its data source so that subsequent analysis can distinguish what the market-data service reported from what the promoter inferred.
Record the provenance of a volume number
Practical checklist · not an audit of another provider
Save the venue, trading pair, reporting window and source of the displayed total. Note whether the number aggregates exchanges or comes from one platform and whether the same source supplies all comparison charts. Put volume, spread and available depth in separate fields; do not substitute one for another. Avoid placing trades to test a suspicious token. If you lack independent data, state that limit. A historical manipulation case can justify scrutiny, but it is not evidence to accuse an unrelated issuer or holder.
Sources, dates and limits
Checked 23 October 2026. The SEC proposal and dismissal are distinct from the June 2025 criminal sentencing record. No later court entry is established by the reviewed materials, and no unrelated token is labelled manipulated by association.

The SEC's 3 August 2026 release describes a proposed Gotbit judgment filed on 28 July and a voluntary dismissal of its claims against Fedor Kedrov. The release makes approval conditional. The linked judgment document is labelled proposed and has an unsigned date line, so it is not treated here as an entered order. The dismissal concerns those SEC claims; it does not erase the separate criminal outcomes described below.
