The later wanted notice
The FBI's notice states that Horst Jicha's monitoring device stopped working on 3 October 2024 and agents were unable to locate him. It records a warrant issued the following day for an alleged pretrial-release violation. The notice was still available when checked on 23 October 2026. It is evidence of the FBI's stated wanted status, not a criminal judgment on the underlying USI Tech allegations or independent confirmation of his current location.
The announcement
DOJ's 19 January 2024 release announced charges against Horst Jicha in connection with USI Tech. The indictment alleged securities fraud and related conspiracies involving wire fraud and money laundering. Jicha was presumed innocent in that charging record; this archive does not convert the allegations into a conviction.
The alleged sequence
According to the announcement, USI Tech marketed cryptocurrency investments through a multilevel network and promises of high guaranteed returns. After regulatory scrutiny, the platform allegedly ceased US operations in early 2018, leaving investors unable to access their money. DOJ alleged that much of the missing Ether and Bitcoin was sent to addresses controlled by Jicha.
A number with a date attached
The source valued that cryptocurrency at approximately $150 million as of Jicha's arrest. It is misleading to present that amount as a timeless measure or to silently replace it with a current exchange rate. The record is useful for understanding the alleged transfers and representations, while later legal developments require their own evidence.
Sources, dates and limits
Checked 23 October 2026 against the January 2024 charging release and the FBI wanted notice. The $150 million valuation in the original announcement was a date-specific value of transfers, not a current portfolio value. Underlying fraud allegations remain attributed to their sources.
