Fiddler Everywhere: review, download and setup
Debug HTTP and HTTPS in Fiddler Everywhere, filter sessions and handle captured data safely.
What is Fiddler Everywhere used for?
Fiddler Everywhere works as a debugging web proxy. When playing the error, it shows the exchange between the test client and the server if the client uses a proxy. The developer releases an app for Windows, macOS and Linux.
HTTPS interception is activated separately. For him, Fiddler creates a root certificate, which must be trusted by the client. Installing such a certificate changes the trust settings, so you conduct a test on a dedicated machine or in a test profile.
| Item | Details |

| Download source | Use the project’s official page and choose the build for your operating system. |
| Version and terms | Current builds and conditions of use are given from the developer. The review does not record the unchanged version number. |
Capture a short session and filter by host
Launch the capture and open the test page. Filter the list by the desired host, then check the method, response code and headers. So it's easier to distinguish a request to your server from the background traffic.
If you need confidence in the root certificate for the test, remove it after work. To transfer to colleagues, prepare a minimum example without the titles of authorization and personal data.
Download Fiddler Everywhere from the official website
Select the supported platform on the project page. The link leads to the selection of the distribution, and does not start the installation automatically.
Use the official download address. Check the signature or checksum if the project publishes one. Keep secret configuration files private when contacting support.

Limitations and data protection in Fiddler Everywhere
Capture can contain passwords, cookies and service keys. Keep it with the same limitations as the original data.
Confidence settings differ in OS. On Linux, the developer separately describes the manual import of the certificate.
Alternatives for related tasks
HTTP Toolkit offers to start interception from the selected application. Fiddler Everywhere is suitable for session and filtering. For low-level networking questions, use Wireshark.
